2015-2016 Student Parliament

The Honourable David C. Onley, lieutenant governor of Ontario, opened Waterdown's first Student Parliament on February 13th, 2008. The school's mace is shown being presented to Principal Helen McGregor in the presence of His Honour.

Office of the Prime Minister

The Head of Student Government at Waterdown District High School. The prime minister chairs the Cabinet, and has the power to appoint new members. 


The prime minister is expected to maintain a good working relationship with the Principal of WDHS, as well as foster positive school spirit. 


Elected: The Right Honourable Devyn Kelly

Deputy Prime Minister - Acts as the prime minister when he/she is unable to perform their duties. Assists the prime minister.

Elected: The Honourable Cooper Brooke





Minister of Finance - In charge of monitoring the finances of the Student Parliament.This position requires 100% attention, and cannot come second to any other club or sport's team at the school.

Elected: The Honourable Eoin Blythe

Minister of Events - In charge of coordinating all special events within the school. This position requires 100% attention, and cannot come second to any other club or sport's team at the school.

Elected: The Honourable Lizzy Rooney

Minister of Public Relations - Coordinates all school-wide announcements, posters, and other media (including media within the Waterdown/Hamilton community – i.e. Flamborough Review). This position requires 100% attention, and cannot come second to any other club or sport's team at the school.

Elected: The Honourable Sam Gooch

Minister of Warrior’s Den - In charge of managing the affairs of the Warrior’s Den. This position requires 100% attention, and cannot come second to any other club or sport's team at the school.

Elected: The Honourable Julia Muirhead

Minister of Student Voice

Appointed: The Honourable Eden Bishop

Minister of Volunteer and Charity Work

Appointed: Rosemary Giles

Parliamentary Secretary - In charge of writing up (and posting) minutes for each Student Parliament/Cabinet meeting. This position requires 100% attention, and cannot come second to any other club or sport's team at the school.

Elected: Ms. Kailey Howell

WDHS Student Senator - Represents the interests of the WDHS Student Parliament on the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board Senate.

Appointed: The Honourable Bailey Cripps
